3 cocktails to share over Zoom

Updated: Nov 20, 2020

The second shutdown is here. Since we won't be sharing food and drink around the table this year, try throwing a digital cocktail party with friends using our delivered cocktail kits!

Video chat can feel distant and isolating but sharing a sensory experience enhances the feeling of togetherness. Choosing a cocktail to make and sip together reaches through the space apart. Here are 3 cocktails and suggested food pairings that will cut through the distance, giving a new meaning to being together in spirit.

Pacific Rim Mule

Oregon goes on vacation in this bright and spicy mule. Featuring wild spruce tips from the Oregon Coast paired with spicy ginger, peach and lychee. JAZ Spirits and Tiki are both about escapism so what better time to indulge than in quarantine? The Pacific Rim cocktail kit is available for home delivery and pairs beautifully with take out Chinese, Korean, or Thai food.

Shake with ice:

1 1/2 oz Verstovia Spruce Tip Vodka

1 oz Peach Lychee Syrup (Honeybee lemonade)

Pour with ice into a glass and top with 3 oz Ginger beer.

*or for a non-alcoholic option, simply mix the syrup with the ginger beer over ice.

Berry Nectar Collins

Farmland meets the forest in this vibrant spritz. Richly flavored raspberries, black currants, and honey pair with wild Oregon botanicals to create a colorful celebratory cocktail. The Berry Nectar cocktail kit is available for home delivery and compliments rich cheese and charcuterie or a juicy burger.

Shake with ice:

1 1/2 oz Riverain Dry Gin

1 oz Raspberry Currant Syrup

Pour with ice into a tall glass and top with 3 oz topo chico.

*or for a fancy twist, shake gin and syrup with ice, strain into a coupe glass and top with sparkling wine.

Gin & Tonic Flight

Gin is the most expressive of the spirits. A good gin should paint a botanical picture and a gin and tonic is the perfect medium. Treat yourselves to both of our gins and a Tonic kit and meet your friends in the forest. Gin & Tonics are a natural fit with tapas or Indian food.

Fill a glass with ice, add

1 1/2 oz gin

1/2 lime's juice and rind

top with 3 oz tonic. Garnish if desired with fresh herbs, edible flowers, or spices.

How else will you be building shared experiences through the distance this year? Choose a recipe with friends to cook for a digital dinner party? Play a game of trivial pursuit? Even a text inviting your friends to step outside one evening and look at the moon creates a feeling of togetherness while we are apart.
